Reunion Highlights
If you weren't able to make the reunion - please know that you were missed.
Many of us were struck by how nice it was to see old friends again and reflect on our days at DGN. As one classmate put it, "We have a great class. I almost forgot how many good people are a part of it."
Here are some of the highlights from the weekend:
- 90 people showed up, despite the rainy weather, at the Moose Lodge Friday night. An eclectic group - but all friendly and happy to be there.
- 169 attendees at Emmett's Ale House on Saturday night
- Approx. 50 classmates participated in a school tour on Saturday. Felt strange to walk the halls again, but also very fun! Nice trip down memory lane. We were there 20 years too early - the renovations are awesome!
- Several classmates and families defied the rain and participated in the DGN Homecoming Parade, followed by a picnic in the Hummer Park Pavilion.
- Charles Moré wins the "prize" for traveling the longest distance to the reunion - 4000 miles from London, England!
- Peter Porter wins the "split the pot" raffle and goes home with $270
- Sarah Raths Diehl voted as the person who hasn't aged a bit since high school. Mark Frigo places second.
- Clint Hochstedt serves as both DJ and photographer! Thank you for all of your contributions!
- Diana Mroczek kicks off the 80's karaoke session and ROCKS THE HOUSE!
- Broc Montgomery, John McIntosh, Jon Fellows, Rob Rhee and Todd Rountree sing "Ebony and Ivory" - a moment we will not soon forget!
- Diane Curry Bean lugs tons of DGN memorabilia from Virginia to display at Emmett’s to help classmates walk down memory lane.
-
Golf outing is a huge success with the 16 players on Saturday morning. Prize winners were: Longest Putt - Mark Whitney; Longest Drive - Jerry Pawlowicz (Melissa Olson's husband), Closest to the Pin - Tim Salman; Closest to the Pin - Scott Baldwin; Low Score- Matt Tomy, Tim McClinton.
- High School “crap” is gone and instead we have a group of adults who came from the same background enjoying an evening/weekend together catching up on the past 20 years and laughing at some of the stupid/fun times we had during those awkward teenage years. Most agree they wouldn’t go back, but also wouldn’t change a thing.

It takes a long time to grow an old friend. - John Leonard
Click here to read Anne Rocco Segal's blog where she wrote about her experience at the reunion. Thanks, Anne!
"I debated whether to come to the reunion. I had only kept in touch with a couple people, so I was afraid it would be uncomfortable. But I had a great time and even got to know some people I had not really been aquainted with in high school." Survey Response
"None of us today are the people we were back then. We have all grown up. We have all moved on. We have all experienced ups and downs and yet, here we were, together again, all with shared memories and still alive. We had gone through so much together back then, and had gone through so much in the interim, but now we were together again and we were still alive and, quite frankly, that is worth celebrating." Survey Response
"I am so glad to have had the weekend to reconnect with old friends. There were so many stories retold and so many happy times! It just made me realize how much I miss so many of my classmates. Definitely will do my best to stay connected now that I've 'found' them again..." Survey Response
